2008 Charvel Tele
(USA)
|
This is my second
Charvel Production model guitar, and has become my favorite of the two. The funny thing is
that I've never been a big fan of the Tele shape. But, when I saw this guitar advertised
for 30% under MAP with a hardshell case included, I grabbed it immediately and couldn't be
happier. |
As I said before, there
are a lot of people out there moaning about these guitars from
whining about them having Grover tuners, to having a three-piece body, an economy Floyd
Rose - I've even heard people complaining about the knob! Yes - you read that right - the
knob. All I will say is let them keep on moaning - try
one for yourself and let your own hands and ears be your guide. This particular guitar
ends up getting around 75% or more of my playing time. For the money, you would be hard
pressed to find a better rock n' roll guitar straight out of the box. |
What's not to like about this guitar?
It has a killer Charvel oil finished neck, Seymour Duncan pickups and a factory Floyd Rose
Tremolo - which in spite of not being made in Germany seems to work flawlessly. |
The stock Duncan JB pickup has been
replaced with a custom shop '78 EVH model, but other than that she's bone stock just as
she came from the factory. |
Sadly, due to a lack of
popularity, the Tele shape is no longer being offered. There are, however, many dealers
that are selling these off at bargain basement prices so there is still an opportunity to
grab one. |
Hell, I may even grab
another one before they're gone! |
